What does it mean for you, (as a local Foundation Governor in a MAT, Foundation Governor of a church school, Foundation Trustee or a Foundation Member) to hold a role in the governance of one or more church schools?
This course will focus on the expectations, requirements and role of Foundation Governors as laid down in the SDBE Foundation Governor appointment policy and national guidance.
There will be opportunities for delegates to reflect on their context, the impact of their faith in the outworking of their role, and to identify areas of potential and actual strength and weakness for further growth and development. The session will conclude with a short service of commissioning recognising that this role is deeply vocational in nature and represents them being called into a significant ministry.
